“Välkommen, bienvenue and welcome” to Stockholm
Often referred to as the capital of Scandinavia, Stockholm offers everything one might want for a weekend break – beautiful islands, a bustling nightlife, shopping for all tastes, easy access to nature, and of course a rich dramatic arts scene. And May is the perfect month to visit.
Since this is the first time that the Festival of European Anglophone Theatrical Societies is coming so far north, why not take the opportunity to extend your stay and experience all that this beautiful city of islands has to offer? To find out more about Stockholm, visit the Stockholm Tourist Board’s Web site.
The Stockholm Players’ history with FEATS
The Stockholm Players has been participating, and winning awards, in FEATS for at least twenty years. Over the years we have won (amongst others) Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Production, Best Stage Presentation, Best Stage Management and Best Original Script. So even though 2008 is the first time that the festival comes to Stockholm, we are far from novices at the event.
More about the Stockholm Players
With roots in the 1920s, the Stockholm Players is by far the oldest English-language theatre group in Sweden. In addition to staging several major productions a year, and often a traditional Christmas pantomime, the Stockholm Players runs an ongoing programme of informal play readings, theatre visits, improvisations, cabarets, workshops and other theatre-related activities. Its members are drawn from various walks of life. However, they all have one common denominator – their love of English-language theatre.
